Soft fudgy chocolate cookies with chewy edges topped with flaky sea salts. These sea salt chocolate cookies are perfect for Valentine’s Day, especially chocolate lovers.
Hi! This is Andrea from Cooking with a Wallflower, and this week I’m back on Ask Anna to share with you a brand new recipe just in time for Valentine’s Day.
I am so obsessed with all things chocolate. So when it comes to dessert, I almost always want something with chocolate. So for Valentine’s Day, I thought I’d make fudgy chocolate cookies for all those chocolate lovers out there. Because seriously, how can you resist?
If you’re a fan of chocolate, or if your significant other is a fan of chocolate, then these chocolate cookies would be perfect for you. These chocolate cookies are soft and fudgy with chewy edges. It’s finished with flaky sea salt which gives these cookies a sweet and savory flavor profile.
These cookies are simple to make, delicious, and perfect for gifting!
Hope you enjoy these cookies as much as I do!
In a microwave safe bowl, melt semi sweet chocolate according to the directions on the packaging with butter. Stir the chocolate until smooth.
Transfer the melted chocolate into a large mixing bowl. Add brown sugar and granulated sugar to the bowl. Mix until combined. Add egg and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.
In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and a pinch of salt.
Pour the dry ingredients into the well ingredients. Mix with a spatula until the dough comes together.
Refrigerate the cookie dough for about a half hour so that the cookie doesn’t spread too much.
Preheat the oven to 350F.
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Use a cookie scooper to scoop cookie dough onto the baking sheet. About 9 cookie dough ball per cookie sheet.
Bake the cookie for about 8-10 minutes. Repeat with the rest of the cookie dough.
Sprinkle sea salt on top of the cookies while it is still hot.
Serve the sea salt chocolate cookies warm.
Enjoy!
