Christmas Eve greetings friends! At last… I finally snapped a few photos of my living room, and the theme this year? Extra calm, light and bright. I didn’t deck all the halls as I have in years past because I wanted to keep it oh-so-simple. This year with socializing minimized, the only people I’m decorating for are the ones I live with so there was no need for excess.
I’m patting myself on the back that I didn’t buy anything new other than a sweet pair of wood reindeer, you’ll spy them on the mantel. When I brought out the bins I realized I have so many pretty things I’ve collected, there wasn’t any need to shop for more. I left my green plants in place and they became part of the scene. The greenery gathered on the mantel is simple clippings from my boxwood hedges paired with a preserved boxwood wreath.
Below are a few merry and bright vignettes from the space where we open gifts together, and where I’m teaching myself to play simple songs on the piano (thanks to YouTube).
Thank you so much to all of you who continue to follow along in my adventures in design, DIY, and travel. I am so grateful for your visits and comments and I love this online community. I feel connected to you and appreciate you all so much. I wish you all love, peace, and joy this holiday season.
Join me on December 30th for reflections and lessons from 2020 coupled with intentions for 2021.
Many blessings to you all. xo
