Hello friends, welcome to another week! It seems October has taken a turn toward winter. Last week, we were enjoying sunny skies in the 70s, now the temperature has dropped and we woke up to a chill in the air. I welcome it. The thing I love most about the colder months is the cozy factor. Enter the sheepskin rugs, chenille blankets, lighted candles, and homemade soup on the stove. :)
Once a week I host various gatherings at my studio: podcast discussions, my friend’s nutrition class, and a bi-monthly “wine wednesday”. To warm up the space for winter evenings, I ordered a freestanding electric fireplace. I did a lot of research and thought about building a DIY mantel and surround for an electric insert, but the price and style was right on this freestanding oak fireplace so I ordered it. I plan to paint all but the mantel a matte black.
For years many of these freestanding fireplaces have been available in more traditional styles, but good news, here are some contemporary options that will help you add warmth and ambiance to your home!
hollis electric (also red and black)
harper electric (also gray and sandstone)
shoalhaven electric (also in white)
red portable stove / compact freestanding stove
