Iced Strawberry Matcha Latte

Hi! I’m Andrea from Cooking with a Wallflower, and I’m back this month on Ask Anna to share with you one last summery drink before summer officially ends.

Can you believe that fall is just weeks away? I honestly feel as if summer slipped away so quickly. One moment, summer just arrived with all the stone fruits and berries, and the next, summer is over, the kids are back in school, and pumpkin spice everything has arrived.

So with just weeks left until summer is officially over, I thought I would take this opportunity to share with you one last summer drink: strawberry matcha latte.

Iced Strawberry Matcha Latte

Have you ever had iced strawberry matcha latte before? If you haven’t, this is definitely going to be a treat. Think matcha latte sweetened with strawberry simple syrup. The flavors of strawberry mixed in with every sip of your matcha latte. Sooo good.

Iced Strawberry Matcha Latte

In a small pot, add sliced strawberries, granulated sugar, and a little bit of water. Cook the strawberries over low heat for about 10 minutes until the strawberries have turned jam like in consistency. Let the strawberries sit and cool for several minutes.

In a mason jar, or a large glass, add matcha powder and a little bit of almond milk. Whisk until the matcha powder turns into a smooth paste. Add the rest of the almond milk and either maple syrup or brown sugar. Whisk until the matcha powder has completely dissolved.

In small mason jars or glasses, add the strawberry syrup to the bottom of the glasses. Pour the matcha latte over the strawberry syrup. Top the strawberry matcha latte with crushed ice.

Enjoy!
